Vikings, fire and ice, and the Pursuit of happiness

We cover all the bases and check off all the boxes on this intensive voyage through lands of varied yet staggering beauty. Before we depart Oslo, take in world-class food and culture, enjoy restorative nature, and explore the city’s sculpture parks and its Viking past. A luxurious day at sea eases you into Lerwick in the Shetland Islands—home to a unique blend of Scandinavian and Scottish culture, where you can explore rocky cliffs and embrace a slower, more authentic pace of life. In the town named for the hammer-wielding Norse god of thunder, Thor, you’ll feel a million miles away. But don’t be fooled by Tórshavn’s rustic exterior. Behind the multi-colored grassy roof houses and cobblestone alleys lies a fascinating culture, more than your fair share of amazing food, and delightfully wild natural edges.

At our first Iceland stop, Seyðisfjörður, discover some of the country’s most unique architecture, natural beauty, and friendly faces. In Akureyri, marvel at snow-capped mountain peaks, stunning fjords, and lush countryside. If you love horses, you’re in luck–your next destination, Skagafjörður, is the only county in Iceland where horses outnumber people. Next up Ísafjörður, a remote fishing community with a quaint Old Town and a lively arts and music scene. We sail off to Reykjavik, a city with a cosmopolitan look and small-town soul, offering thrilling art, architecture, and gastronomy alongside an old-world charm that is sure to capture you.

Then we discover Heimaey, an island that owes its incredible beauty to volcanic activity, as evidenced by the 400 homes and buildings that were buried at what is now an active archaeological excavation known as “Pompeii of the North.” World-class dining, luxurious spa, and a thoughtful and attentive staff and crew, you won't have trouble filling two days aboard your exclusive boutique hotel at sea before we stop in Skagen to delight in the wild landscape and quality of light that inspired the famous Skagen School of late 19th century artists.

Our journey ends in the best possible place: Copenhagen. Get a taste for the excellent quality of life this beautiful buzzing capital is known for and find out why people here are so happy.
