Your half-day journey begins with a five-mile drive to the artisan village of Kuranda, tucked amid the verdant jungle. Along the way, your local guide will give you an insight into this rainforest village. Upon arrival at the village, enjoy some free time to browse the local markets and souvenir shops, where merchants are always eager to sell their handcrafted trinkets and treasures. Afterwards, hop aboard the Kuranda Scenic Railway, an engineering marvel built between 1882 and 1891. Rumble through 15 tunnels and cross 37 bridges built by the pioneers of North Queensland. Marvel as you pass spectacular waterfalls and venture into awe-inspiring Baron Gorge along these historic rails that takes you to into the far reaches of the Australian rainforest.
