Victoria Falls & Chobe Game Park Safari

Upon arrival at Johannesburg Airport you’ll be transferred to your hotel. (Rooms are available after 2:00p). After checking in, the remainder of your day is at your leisure. Dinner is on your own this evening.

After a leisurely breakfast, transfer to Johannesburg International Airport for your scheduled flight to Victoria Falls where, upon arrival, you’ll be shown to your hotel. After checking in, enjoy lunch at the hotel. Then, enjoy some leisure time before your late-afternoon sunset cruise down the Zambezi River—a Victoria Falls ‘must-do.’ Relax on this 2.5-hour journey down the river, enjoying sundowners and hors d'oeuvres, while keeping a look out for wildlife—you may spot elephants and giraffes along the banks, or be lucky enough to see hippos and crocodiles in the water. Dinner is at the hotel this evening.

After breakfast, depart for an expert-led walking tour of Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. As you walk through the rainforest, your guide will relay information about the geology, history, ecology, and legends that shroud this famous landmark, known in the local language as “The Smoke that Thunders.” enjoy lunch at The Lookout Café, perched 120 meters above the Zambezi River’s turbulent rapids, with the backdrop of the iconic Victoria Falls Bridge. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure, or opt to take the Flight of Angels helicopter over the Falls (booked locally). Regroup in the early evening to climb aboard an authentic steam train, and head out to the iconic Victoria Falls Bridge, with dinner served along the way. Savor the beautiful scenery against the setting sun, and a day’s-end view of the magnificent Falls.

This morning, board your vehicle for a scenic, transfer to Chobe National Park, Botswana. The expansive park is home to a variety of habitats, flora, and a unique collection of wildlife, from Puku antelope, leopards, and hundreds of bird species. Chobe is also home to Africa's largest elephant population—an estimated 50,000. After check-in, lunch, and time to relax, get ready for your afternoon game drive or sunset safari cruise. Either drive or float around the park with an expert game ranger; behold the sight of elephant herds crossing the river, or hippos and crocs basking in the sun. Enjoy a spectacular sunset before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Depart at dawn—when the animals are most active—for a game drive where you might see large herds of elephant, buffalo, impala, and the majestic giraffe, as well as feline predators who enjoy hunting in the early hours. Return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast, and a morning at leisure. You may wish to relax with a dip in the swimming pool, or head out in search of more game (your Safari Director can organize a packed lunch and a full-day expedition). This afternoon, enjoy your choice of a game drive in an open 4x4 safari vehicle, or a safari cruise along the river.

Enjoy your last early-morning game drive and bid farewell to the Botswana bush before returning to the lodge for breakfast. After checking out, return by road to Victoria Falls for your flight to Johannesburg’s O.R. Tambo International Airport. Upon arrival, you’ll be assisted with the collection of your stored luggage, and check into your connecting flight to Cape Town where you’ll be escorted to your Azamara® ship.
